Most printers run two parallel supply chains: a 'green' line they charge a premium for, and a 'standard' line on cheaper conventional materials. We don't do that. Every order ships on FSC-mix paperboard with soy-based inks at no upcharge. Here's why that's actually possible.
Material sourcing economics
FSC-mix paperboard is roughly 3–5% more expensive at the mill than non-certified equivalent stock. Soy-based ink is essentially the same price as petroleum ink. Recyclable lamination films cost the same as PE-based ones. The 'premium' on green packaging at most printers is a margin choice, not a real cost.
What we don't claim
Sustainable packaging isn't a finish line. There are still trade-offs: recyclable laminations don't perform identically to non-recyclable ones, soy ink has slightly different drying times, and 'biodegradable' often only means biodegradable in industrial composting. We'll tell you which trade-off applies to your specific build.
Certifications we hold
FSC Chain-of-Custody (FSC-C159234), SFI Certified Sourcing, and PEFC Chain-of-Custody. All material receipts are available on request — we'll ship them with your order documents.
